Storyteller Dolls

We have been making storyteller dolls with our art teacher, Mrs. Peterson. They are basically figures of a storyteller, usually a man or a woman and its mouth is always open. It is surrounded by figures of children and other things, who represent those who are listening to the storyteller.

Spider - Pig

 

In a thrilling race, Spider-Pig narrowly defeated the porky champion representing Mr. Kostin's first grade class. Spider-Pig entered the race representing Room25online as the top fundraising fifth grade class. As a result PTO will reward us with a pizza party.

 

Spider-Pig was thankful to be in the race. He knows that everone at Walker is a champion.   

Tessellations

In our class we are learning  about Tessellations.
Tessellations are polygons in a pattern that can be in different colors and designs
but can't  have gaps or overlaps.
Each person in our class made something out of their picture
and made it into a pattern and then colored it.
Tessellations can be everywhere in the  world ,you just have to look.

       We received an emergency call from the Pentagon in Washington D.C. about  Hawaii. Mt. Kilawea was erupting.Our goal was to make a rocket that could keep Lt. Eggbert safe from breaking open when he landed.We broke into groups to design the rockets. We would get two tries to get Lt. Eggbert safely to Mt.Kilawea. On the first day, we made a rocket that was safe for Eggbert. We also made the robot design on the computer so we would  know how to put it together. Here is our video of how we worked at Starbase.

Welcome to Room25online

Welcome to our class blog.My intent is for it to be an ongoing interactive journal of the happenings in Room 25. It will be a daily (or almost daily) recap of our day at school. Parents can see what we did at school that day, students who were absent can begin to catch up on any work they might have missed - the possibilities for two-way communication are endless. Best of all, the blog will be entirely written by you, the students of room 25.This is a tool we can have a lot of fun with. It is a tool of the 21st century-maybe unlike anything you've used at Walker before. We will be able to give each other comments and feedback on our work. People all over the world will be able to see what we do. Do you have relatives who live outside of Tucson? Well, now they can keep up with what you're doing. Communication will be 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and all over the planet.
